The template used `FileManager.default.fileExists(atPath: "src/scanner.c")` with a relative path, which resolves against the process cwd. When SwiftPM evaluates a dependency's manifest, the cwd is the consumer's directory, so the check returns `false` even when `scanner.c` exists, causing undefined symbol linker errors. This commit uses `Context.packageDirectory`, which is available since `swift-tools-version:5.6`, to resolve the path against the package root. This does bump the minimum tools version from 5.3 to 5.6. |

tree-sitter
Tree-sitter is a parser generator tool and an incremental parsing library. It can build a concrete syntax tree for a source file and efficiently update the syntax tree as the source file is edited. Tree-sitter aims to be:
- General enough to parse any programming language
- Fast enough to parse on every keystroke in a text editor
- Robust enough to provide useful results even in the presence of syntax errors
- Dependency-free so that the runtime library (which is written in pure C) can be embedded in any application
