git-cp(1) -- Copy a file keeping its history

SYNOPSIS

git-cp <current_filename> <destination_filename>

DESCRIPTION

Copy a file keeping its git history. This allows merge conflict handling.

EXAMPLES

Copy README into README.txt

$ git cp README README.txt
